Earlier this summer, I wrote a post about the closure of the Hidden City Cafe in Pt. Richmond, California. The cafe has a wonderful history with the Pixar Animation Studios and was owned by Shellie Bourgault. I met Shellie once when I visited the restaurant on one of my trips to Emeryville; she was very friendly and was happy that we were visiting the restaurant due to its significance within the Pixar and animation world. Along with many of you, I was very sad to see the cafe close (oh, how I miss the Eggs Benedict!), and have hoped she would be able to reopen it.
Although the restaurant is not reopening, I am happy to report Shellie is back in business! I was recently contacted by Chris Evans, who is responsible for Shellie's marketing and website development. He informed me that the Hidden City Cafe website is back up with Shellie's new endeavours - private cooking classes, restaurant business consulting and catering. Chris also said other projects are in store, such as cooking shows, a video series on the local San Francisco organic farming business, her own line of sauces, kombucha-based drinks and other healing foods, and Hidden City memorabilia. It sounds like Shellie will be very busy for the next many months!
I wish the best of luck to Shellie in her new efforts. Keep an eye on her website for further developments, and as I hear of new updates I'll be sure to share them with you all.
